About Us
'Chiguru' in Kannada means the new leaves of a young plant or the new leaves on a tree during the spring season. The new leaves of a young plant are very soft and can be easily damaged if not handled carefully. This is a similar phenomenon observed with very young children who need careful and sensitive nurturing during the 0 to 7 years of early childhood. Chiguru is a waldorf-inspired kindergarten that was started in the year 2017. We are a waldorf-inspired kindergarten and the teachers involved are trained using waldorf pedagogy principles.
Teachers at Chiguru are trained professionals who have a strong understanding of their own inner child and believe in engaging with children in a mindful way.

Mission
At Chiguru, parents and teachers are presented to the understanding of the child’s consciousness at regular intervals and such synchronicity promotes healthy growing up years for the child. Teachers at Chiguru believe in learning as a continuous journey, and are trained holistically at regular intervals to engage with children mindfully and work with the children using age appropriate curriculum. Parents are empowered through inner child workshops to deal with their child’s behaviour in a meaningful way. Children are equipped with numeracy, literacy, and life skills in a creative and joyful way, laying a strong foundation for their future. The learning environment promotes an experiential learning that children cherish for a lifetime.

At Chiguru, we use waldorf pedagogy principles. We are a certified member of Sadhana Association, an Indian Association that represents The International Association for Steiner/Waldorf Early Childhood Education.
History
Chiguru was founded in the year 2017 by Saiprabha Koneru for two children at her residence. The place extended a home like environment promoting Waldorf pedagogy principles and beliefs of early childhood. There was an equal and balanced emphasis on the education of the head, heart, and the hands of the children using Waldorf pedagogy principles.
